Established in 1957, Fushimi Underground Shopping Street in Nagoya is a charming and historically rich underground passage, often referred to as Chojyumachii Underground Street. Come nighttime, it transforms into a bustling drinking haven, filled with hardworking salarymen. This 240-meter-long corridor boasts around 40 shops and is situated in what’s known as Nagoya’s hidden gem, Fushimi Underground Shopping Street. Join us as we explore this hidden treasure on a weekday afternoon!

MUFG Currency Museum

We systematically display rare coins from Japan and other countries around the world from before Christ.

With the aim of contributing to society through the protection of cultural properties and education, the museum has a collection of 15,000 currency-related materials from Japan and overseas, and approximately 1,800 ukiyo-e prints, which are open to the public. In the coin exhibition room, there are Japanese coins such as Tensho large size coins made by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Edo period clan bills and woodblocks, which are few in existence, and Chinese coins from around the 12th century B.C., which are said to be the oldest coins in the world. We systematically exhibit rare coins from Japan and other countries around the world.
